Mining Magazines, Mining Publications, or Mining Investments...
... is a difficult search string to work with in Google, or Yahoo. Typing in prospecting + gold + silver + nuggets, or "investing," also returns millions of hits that are not to the point if a reader happens to be actually looking for investment opportunities in mineral exploration. This is why we have developed specific doorways in our 'mining magazine mall,' where the niche is focused exactly (hopefully) to what the searcher requests.
This directory of interlinked online magazines and property catalogs is not in competition with The California Mining Journal with articles on how to use electronic nugget finders, nor do we publish scholarly battles between professionals as found in the Engineering & Mining Journal. What we do better than both of those very helpful sources of information, is present valid prospects in need of funding by 'junior' mining companies.
Given the shortage of mineral production in the US, and 'juniors' —Chile and Africa has become the darling of our major US multinational mining companies—a vacuum has developed just as metal prices are raising. Our 'reserves' of undeveloped prospects in this country have disappeared. Enron style management has led to the really big companies merging, and merging again, mining the market, instead of the minerals. This lack of, "taking care of business," has created opportunity for small, start up, resource management firms (especially those with a feeling for the environment) to build an empire.
Did you know that the Hearst fortune was built upon owning 5 percent of the Homestake mine in Lead, South Dakota? This throwaway trivia question was intended to put the idea in your head that perhaps mining and publishing do work well together on the Internet (when found).
